Alain Dugas is named official judge of AWC

AWC is actively promoting standardization of judgement during competitions

In order to do so, we put all our efforts in providing the best available panel of judges and common judges in all AWC competitions.

We are proud to announce that in 2025, Alain Dugas will be the official AWC judge during German Open, Belgian Open and British Open.

Alain Dugas

Alain Dugas is an experienced glider and powered aerobatic pilot, instructor and competitor who took part in many competitions since 1982. Alain coached the French glider aerobatic team from 2008 to 2022, winning two team gold medals.

Alain was a judge during several powered aerobatic competitions.

Alain says: “as a judge, it is important to keep myself updated with high level aerobatic flying. This is why I do training camps with pilots from Luxembourg, Swiss and Belgium in Chambley airport (France) to keep watching different pilots and planes flying complex sequences”.
